Kevin- ancher man
Hello, my name is Kevin Urlaub and this is BCS news! Today we look at the cattle industry in the Amazon rainforest, which is becoming one of the most popular industries in the region. Today we have our reporter Aanarhia and two cattle ranchers who have agreed to tell us about cattle ranching life in the Amazon Rain forest.
Hi, I’m Aanarhia White and I will be asking our two interviewees a couple of questions today. Starting with our first interviewee, a cattle rancher who lives in Brazil. What do cattle ranchers want to do with the resources in the Amazon?
Well, after loggers clear an open space, we allow our cattle to graze the land and eat its grass. This is because we want to use this land to its full potential using all of its avalable resources. We also want to take advantage of the fact that the land is not very populated with people.
I see. Now Alex, Do you think this is a good way to use these resources?
Yes, because it is a way to bring income to families and it is a way for the loggers and ranchers to work together and strengthen Brazil’s economy by using their natural resources.
Well, I have one more question, so Kenji, what is your day to day life like?
Well, as a rancher I basically spend my day controlling my herd by keeping track of all the cattle, making sure they are well fed, and making sure we are meeting the demand for beef.
Okay, well, thank you for being here today. There you have it, that is what life is like for the ranchers in the Amazon. Back to you Kevin
Thank you, that’s our story on the beef industry in the Amazon rain forest, thanks for listening. And until next time, this is BCS news.
